James B. Seplowitz joined the firm in September, 2004. Since that time, he has represented hundreds of clients and has been involved in dozens of trials. He concentrates his practice in criminal defense and municipal court matters, including all appeals, and has written articles and lectured on various DWI and criminal defense topics. In the summer of 2008, Mr. Seplowitz was appointed as chair of the firm's Criminal Defense Team. He is admitted to practice in both New York and New Jersey, the United States District Courts for the District of New Jersey and the Southern District of New York, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Mr. Seplowitz has attained an AV Preeminent rating (the highest rating) from the Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating system on ethical standards and legal ability.

Mr. Seplowitz is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA), the Bergen County Bar Association (BCBA), the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of New Jersey (ACDL-NJ), the NORML Legal Committee, and is a graduate of the Justice Morris Pashman American Inn of Court. He served as President of the Young Lawyers Section for the BCBA for the 2008-2009 term and is currently a co-chair of the BCBA's Criminal Practice Committee. 

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Seplowitz served as a law clerk in the Criminal Part of the Superior Court of New Jersey for the Honorable Donald R. Venezia, J.S.C. for the 2003-04 term, where he gained a unique insight into New Jersey's criminal justice system.

In March, 2011, Mr. Seplowitz received a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati (Distance Learning Program). Mr. Seplowitz received his law degree in 2003 from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, New York, NY and is a magna cum laude graduate of Yeshiva College, Yeshiva University (B.A. in History). While in law school, Mr. Seplowitz was a David Berg Scholar and was competitively selected as a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and the Criminal Defense Clinic. As a member of the Moot Court Honor Society, he participated in national moot court competitions as both an oralist and writer. In the Cardozo Criminal Defense Clinic, Mr. Seplowitz served as a student attorney representing clients accused of various misdemeanor crimes in the New York County Criminal Court.
